Decking Out My House for Fall
Even though it’s still 90 degrees outside here in North Texas, you can start to feel summer slipping away and the scent of pumpkin spice lattes in the air. 😉 For home decor bloggers, September signals the start of the holiday decorating season! I love decorating for the holidays because it allows me to bring in more color and mix things up a bit. This year, I decorated earlier than ever for Fall, and kind of went nuts on pumpkins…real and faux! The Dallas Farmer’s Market in Downtown Dallas had some gorgeous real pumpkins. And then I mixed in faux pumpkins from Etsy, Pottery Barn, and Amazon. I’m going to take you through a tour of my first floor, and show you the Fall touches I added to each space.
For a complete list of sources and home info including PAINT COLORS, FLOORING INFO, and ALL OTHER DESIGN SELECTIONS please go to my >>> HOME TOUR!
Entry Way
Upon entering my home, I have a narrow console table that I loaded up with both real and faux pumpkins. To give the table some texture and interest, I added some vintage books and chippy corbels, and lasty, some new gorgeous lamps from Urban Farmhouse Designs. The prints above my console table were purchased locally, but I found a set that includes these same four prints here! See slider of products below for links to all sources.
Click here for this gorgeous Indoor/Outdoor rug! I know people get nervous when they see a white rug….but I promise these are the easiest rugs to clean and so durable! You can just take these particular rugs outside and hose them down!
Foyer
In my foyer, I continued the pumpkin overload with these gorgeous neutral pumpkins cascading down the stairs… it’s a super easy way to add drama to your entryway/foyer. I added some greenery, neutral and chunky textures, and of course pumpkins galore to give this space a fresh Fall look. See slider below for all sources.
Dining Room
I was really excited to try something I haven’t really focused on before…a Fall tablescape! The centerpiece of my fall tablescape was this huge vintage dough bowl from Urban Farmhouse Designs in Dallas. I couldn’t find this dough bowl online, but I found some similar options here and here. What’s great about these large dough bowls is that not only are they such a beautiful and rustic statement piece, but they can be easily changed up for the holidays. I can create an all new look for my tablescape for Christmas by adding Christmas ornaments and greenery instead!
Bargain secret: This pretty gold silverware you see in the tablescape below???…. they are plastic and can be purchased here for only $25 for 60 place settings! These gold placemats were a bargain too… a set of 4 for only $11! By the way, this is all faux greenery here that I picked up at Hobby Lobby an Urban Farmhouse Designs. See the slider below for the sources for the rest of my dining room furniture and decor. Or click here for my blog post about this space.
Living Room
Are you starting to see a theme here with my Fall decor this year? Pumpkins galore! I had all these beautiful pumpkins, so I decided why not showcase them all! I love the color of these peachy colored pumpkins. They fit with the season, yet allow me to keep the neutral look that I love! The chunky wooden candlesticks on my mantle are also from Urban Farmhouse Designs. I found some other similar candlestick options here and here as well. The greenery on the mantle is real eucalyptus that I got at Trader Joe’s!
Changing up your decor for fall doesn’t have to be difficult. Simply changing out your accessories and adding pumpkins and other Fall touches can completely transform your space. I added some new pillows (peach grid pillow, white and blue block print pillow, faux fur pillow) and a chunky tassel throw to this space to add some warmer fall tones and texture. See the sliders below for all sources. Or you can find my blog posts about my living room here or here.
Kitchen
My kitchen received just a few minor changes for Fall. I like to use flowers to change the tone of my kitchen for each season. I dont like to do too much decor changing in my kitchen, as most of the items I keep on my counters are actually functional! 😉 You can get a complete guide to my kitchen decor and design selections, including paint color and flooring by going to my Updated Home Tour or by clicking here for my recent kitchen decor update.
Breakfast Room
Bedroom
For my bedroom, I added some new neutral colored bedding for the Fall. And of course, who doesn’t put pumpkins in their bedroom? Ok, no one does….but hey, it looks pretty! 🙂 But I am really excited about this gorgeous new bedding I got for my bedroom from Pom Pom at Home! This gorgeous taupe colored Madison ruffle duvet and shams contrasts so well with the beautiful white quilted coverlet. I love this extra large chunky throw blanket also from Pom Pom at Home. It can also be used as a bedspread because it’s so large!
I also just got this new high-low Boucle rug. This rug is just like my old rug, but is more plush and is lighter in color! It’s so cozy! All the sources for the other decor and furniture can be found in the slider below! And to get all the information about my home including the wall color for this room please check out my Updated Home Tour.

Erin, Your home is stunning. Your pumpkin arrangements and selections are perfect. Can’t wait until your Christmas tour!!
Thanks so much Donna! I can’t wait for Christmas either!
Such a beautiful home and decorated beautifully! I will definitely be purchasing these items to fill my home for fall. I actually bought the Orian white rug as a runner in my bathroom but I love the idea of using it for my front door. What size did you put at your front door?
My front door rug size was a special size they made for me, 4×6, but the 5×7 would have worked too! Thanks for your sweet comment!
Fall PERFECTION!!! Loved reading and scrolling through all the beautiful pics!
Ahh thanks so much Nancy!
Erin, I am loving all the pumpkins! Your stairway and mantle are so beautiful with all those happy pumpkins! I love how each space feels elegant and rustic at the same time. It is a combination I didn’t think was possible but I really love it. I am new here and excited to take a look around the rest of your blog! I found your blog through The Lily Pad Cottage fall home tour and I am excited to see what you have up next. Thanks again and happy fall!
Thanks so much for stopping by and for your super sweet comment! I really appreciate it!
Love your home, it is beautiful! I am curious what are the dimensions of your breakfast area…inside the archway? Is your table completely within the room? We are in the process of a new build and have a similar breakfast/kitchen configuration. Thanks in advance!
What part of Texas do you live in?
Hi! We live about 40 minutes north of downtown Dallas.
What is the color of your walls throughout your house? I want light walls, with the bright white trim and cabinets like yours. I was just going to do all white but I love the contrast you have.
Hi! All my paint colors are linked at the top of this page under the tab, “paint colors”! Thanks!
Hi! I am in love with your home! Question: are any of the pumpkins on your fireplace real? Or are they all faux?
The small white ones are real, as well as the peach colored larger ones!
