Hey friends! Welcome to my annual Christmas Home Tour! This year, I’m teaming up with a group of amazing home decor bloggers in a tour of all or our homes. Be sure you click on the next blogger in our loop, the talented Jennifer of Decor Gold Designs, at the end of my tour!
Neutral Christmas Decor
I’m excited to share with you my home decorated for Christmas this year. It took me over a week to get all the decor out of storage and every room on the 1st level of my home decorated to show you guys! Last year, my Christmas decor had pops of red (Click here to check it out). But I wanted to change it up this year, so I decided to stick with my neutral color theme that I have throughout my house. Even though I didn’t use the traditional Christmas colors, neutral Christmas decor doesn’t have to be boring. Adding lots and lots of lights, shiny elements with gold and silver, as well as lots of texture, helps to create a beautiful and festive neutral Christmas look!

Christmas Entryway
I didn’t do much different with my entryway decor this year. I like to keep it fairly simple by adding a wreath in the center of my 4 framed prints (which I attached with a command strip hook), as well as some Christmas trees and other decor with a mix of gold, fur, and items with a lot of texture to bring visual interest to this space.
My house really glows at night with all the Christmas decor, so I’ll be showing some of the rooms all lit up with Christmas lights in the evening!
Christmas Foyer
Each year at Christmas I have done a layered garland look on my banister, and this year I did the same. I create the full look of my banister garland by layering three different types of garland on top of one another and attaching the garland to the spindles on each end using zip ties. With six sections of six foot long garland, I’m actually using 18 separate garland in this space. I didn’t buy the garland all at once. I’ve been collecting it for many years! I’ve linked some similar garland below, as many of the specific garland used here is not online or is no longer available. I added bows where the garland swoops up in each spot. To create the bow, I used two types of 1.5 inch ribbon (an ivory satin and gold satin ribbon) and just tied a simple bow. To attach, I again used a zip tie threaded through the back of the ribbon knot.
This year for the first time I added lights to the garland, and I think they make a huge difference! I love the glow of the lights in here at night! To add the lights to the garland, I started at the top of the stairs, where I have a plug near the banister and then strung together six light strands together. All of our trees and garland lights are also hooked up to an remote control, which makes turning them on and off each day so much easier!
Christmas Dining Room
As I mentioned my blog post about my dining room Christmas decor, I decided to go with a black, white, and gold theme. I recycled these gold chargers and several other items I used in my tablescape from Fall. To create the ribbon look on my Christmas tree, I cut the black and white ribbon into 12-18 inch sections an placed them randomly around the tree, with the tails of the ribbon hanging out.
Living Room Christmas Decor
If you have been following me on Instagram, I mentioned that I worked with all three Pottery Barn brands on my mantel decor this Christmas Season! Pottery Barn, Pottery Barn Kids, an PBteen all contributed items to create this unique look! I love these small galvanized houses (which are actually stocking holders) and the small glitter houses. I attached our faux fur stockings underneath the mantel with Command Strip Hooks, since we have such a thick mantel. My garland is a combination of this garland and real cypress garland. I love having the real garland, but it definitely will dried out quickly!
These bean bag chairs were probably my favorite thing we added in this room for Christmas! The kids (and Jessie) love having this extra comfy seating. Now the whole family can pile in the room and watch Christmas movies by the fire!
Kitchen Christmas Decor
In my kitchen, I kept it pretty simple with my Christmas decor. For practicality purposes, I don’t like to add a ton of decor items on my counter to clutter it up. So I just added a wreath to my vent hood using a Command Strip Hook. And then added a little garland bottom of the vent hood. All of the flowers you see in my Christmas decor, including the ones that appear in my kitchen are faux flowers. I have so much decor going on in my house, the last thing I want to worry about is having to replace real flowers!
Christmas Bedroom Decor
In my bedroom, I added my gigantic Christmas tree here again this year. If you don’t know the story… I ordered this tree for my entryway, not thinking about how wide it would be. Well last year, when I opened it up, I laughed when I saw how humongous it was and how there was no way it would fit in my entryway (or my living room). Luckily, I have a large bedroom with a bay window area, plus really high ceilings, so the big tree gets to be in my bedroom! I will say going to bed each night with the glow of this amazing tree is pretty magical!
I recently updated some of my bedroom furniture to give my space a fresh new look. I added this new white velvet bed, new nightstands, and this velvet bench at the end of the bed! I also, added some new pillows, including these Peace and Love pillow shams from Pom Pom at Home. Adding a little Christmas detail, like a string of lights along the headboard and a wreath above the bed, helps create a festive holiday mood in here!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this little peek inside my home at Christmas time. Stay tuned in the next week or two, I will be revealing some of my kids’ spaces decked out for Christmas.
